Synopsis

Lakit, an illegitimate, abandoned child, a trying existence under most circumstances but magnified exponentially if that child is unlucky enough to be born in Lebanon.

With no rights to education, travel, citizenship, a surname or even acceptance into any of the 18 Lebanese religions, 23 year old Saleh seems doomed.

An intriguing look out of the abyss as this remarkable young man refuses to yield, struggles to read, write and belong, and the inspiring people who refuse to abandon them and take joy in lending a hand.

Life affirming and a statement that all is not lost in Lebanon.

Screening: Friday, 26 August 2022, 7.15pm — HOYTS Bankstown
