Ed Hanna is the Lebanese Film Festival’s film programmer and festival advisor. Ed has a lifetime interest, love and passion for film and theatre, having undertaken studies in film and communications. He now works in the property development and commercial real-estate sector, but his passion for film is reflected through his ongoing support of the Lebanese Film Festival, amongst other film and arts projects. Ed has held positions in local arts and media organisations, having been Director for Urban Theatre Projects and being involved with local community Radio (Bankstown BFM), as well as undertaking radio broadcast roles in Lebanon. Ed is now married and a father of one, and has been one of the Festival’s greatest sponsors and supporters. We welcome Ed to the team as our film programmer, festival advisor and film critic.

JESSICA KHOURY

CO-DIRECTOR
FILM PROGRAMMER

As Co-Director of the Lebanese Film Festival, Jessica has devoted her time to scouting and acquiring the best of Lebanese Cinema from all corners of the globe. With a UNSW Arts degree in Film and Theatre, Jessica has had her hand in some the biggest film and television productions in Australia, starting out as a grip and a camera assistant, she is now a Sydney based emerging filmmaker, writer and actress. Her skillset also includes film acquisition, distribution, marketing and artist management. Jess also devotes her time to film research and theory and her firing passion for film, arts and culture is reflected in her role as the official Co-Director and Film Judge of the festival.

ELIAS DOUMMAR

INTERNATIONAL CONSULTANT

Elias Doummar is a Lebanese film critic, content producer and cultural advisor with over 25 years of experience in cinema and media. He has hosted and produced cinematic segments for leading TV and radio networks including MTV, LBC, Sky News Arabia, Al Araby, One FM, Fame FM and AlArabiya 99 FM, covering international film festivals and major releases. Appointed as the first Cinema Advisor to Lebanon’s Ministry of Culture in 2017, Elias contributed to national film policy and served on the Oscars Committee for 5 years. He is also a long-standing programmer and a board member of the Beirut International Film Festival, and acting as international consultant for the Lebanese Film Festival in Sydney. Passionate about storytelling and cultural exchange, Elias continues to explore and promote cinema across the Arab world and beyond.
