Marking its 50th anniversary, Beirut, Oh Beirut returns to the big screen at LFF in celebration of both the film and its visionary director, Maroun Baghdadi—one of Lebanon’s most influential cinematic voices. Released in 1975, just before the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War, the film follows four young Lebanese after the defeat of Lebanon by Israeli forces in the Six Day War of 1967. Beirut, Oh Beirut remains a landmark in Lebanese cinema, offering a powerful lens into the country’s complex history and a tribute to Baghdadi’s enduring legacy.
